What's Included in Managed Lines: Everything Brakebee Runs for Your Art Line
Every part of the online side Brakebee takes on in a managed line, plus what the program leaves out.
Managed Lines puts Brakebee's whole platform and a team behind your art line. Everything runs from one catalog, so the website, the marketplace, every connector, the print lab, social posts and emails all show the same accurate details about your work.¹,²
Meet the Brakebee platform behind your line
Brakebee is an art marketplace and selling platform for people who make their work themselves. Artists on their own use it to run a shop, sell on the curated marketplace, take payment at fairs and reach other marketplaces through connectors.² In a managed line, Brakebee's team runs those same tools for you.
| Part of your line | What Brakebee does | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Catalog | Builds and maintains one product record per piece | One update reaches every channel |
| Website | Runs your storefront on your own domain | Your name on the link you share everywhere |
| Social media | Plans and schedules posts through Social Central | A steady feed without writing captions |
| Sends email blasts and drips to people who signed up | Fans hear about new work and show dates | |
| Marketplaces and connectors | Lists your work on the channels that fit it | Wider reach without juggling seller accounts |
| Wholesale | Runs your whole wholesale division | Stores, galleries and designers carry your work |
| Print on demand | Prepares print products the Phoenix lab makes after each sale | No print inventory in your garage |
| Back end | Keeps listings, stock and orders accurate | Fewer oversold originals and stale listings |
Your catalog
Your catalog holds titles, descriptions, images, sizes, variations and prices. Your shop, the marketplace and every connector read from it.² When a piece sells or a new one arrives, we change it once and the change flows everywhere.
Your website
Your line's storefront runs on your own domain, such as yourname.com. If you already own a domain, it stays yours. If you don't have one, we help you get one that sounds like your brand.³ Behind the domain, the site runs on Brakebee with product pages, collections, cart and checkout, and we keep it current as your work changes.²
Social media through Social Central
We plan and schedule posts through Brakebee Social Central: new work, studio moments you share with us, upcoming show dates and seasonal collections.² If you already have social accounts, we can post to them for you, and they stay yours.
Email marketing
We write and send email blasts and drips to people who asked to hear about your work.² Those emails announce new pieces, share show dates and welcome new collectors. Every email includes an easy way to unsubscribe.
Marketplace listings
Your line can appear on the curated Brakebee marketplace and through connectors on Etsy, Shopify, Walmart, Wayfair, eBay, TikTok Shop and Square.¹,² Not every line belongs on every channel. We choose the ones that suit your work and your fulfillment plan. Where a managed line lists your art covers each channel.
A full wholesale division
Brakebee runs your line's entire wholesale division.¹ That covers Brakebee's Wholesale Market, where stores and galleries buy stocked work with wholesale prices, tiers and minimums,² plus Faire and other wholesale marketplaces, line reps who carry your work to retailers, and sales to galleries and interior designers. Faire is a wholesale platform where independent retailers find new brands.⁴ Your wholesale plan is set together in the partnership conversation.
Print on demand, where it fits
The Phoenix lab prints, packs and ships each order after a collector pays.² For many 2D artists and photographers, that opens a lower-cost way for fans to own your work, with no print stock to store. Some artists sell only originals or work in three dimensions, and their lines leave print on demand out. Before a print product goes live, we check that color, cropping and print quality represent your art well. For the product range, see print on demand for artists.
The back-end work
Listing updates, product changes, sold-out originals, order flow and each channel's rules take up the most time in an online business. Most artists want this part off their plate, and it is the part we run every week.
Good to know
Paid advertising
Paid ads are another layer, and another conversation. The managed line runs on organic marketing, and if you want ads on top, we can help.
Sales guarantees
We do the work consistently. Results vary, and we won't promise them.
Your in-person events
Fairs, festivals, markets and commissions stay yours to run.
The terms for your line are shared during the partnership conversation.
