The path from a first conversation to a line Brakebee runs every week, and what each side handles along the way.

A managed line is an ongoing partnership. Brakebee takes over the online side of your art line and keeps it running week after week, while you keep making work and doing your shows.¹ This guide walks through each stage, from the first note you send us to the months after launch.

Talk to us about a managed line

1. Start a partnership conversation

Send us a short note about your work. The contact form opens with the subject and a few questions already filled in: what kind of art you make, your website or Brakebee profile, the art fairs you do, where you sell now and the product types you make. Answer what you can. Nothing about the note commits you to anything.

We take on a small number of lines at a time, so we reply in the order notes arrive.

2. Plan your line together

If the fit looks right, we set up a conversation. We talk through which pieces and products belong in your line, which channels suit them, how orders get fulfilled around your show calendar and whether print-on-demand products make sense for your art. You see the terms for your line during this stage, before anything is signed.

3. Agree and switch it on

You turn on the Managed Lines add-on in your Brakebee account and agree to the program terms. A short agreement for your line spells out what's in it, which channels Brakebee runs and how fulfillment works.¹

4. Send us your materials

We need artwork files, product photos, descriptions, sizes, materials and the story behind your work. If you have social accounts or a contact list you want us to manage, you share access to those as well. Where a platform offers team access, we use it so you keep your own login.

5. We build and launch

Brakebee builds your catalog, sets up your website on your own domain, prepares listings for the channels and wholesale outlets that fit your work, sets up print-on-demand products where they make sense and starts scheduling social posts and emails.² Because every channel reads from one catalog, launch day puts the same accurate information everywhere at once.

6. We keep it running

This is the heart of the partnership. Each week we update listings, post on a schedule, send emails, add new work as you make it and handle the back end. We check in when we need new pieces, photos or a decision from you.

During the partnership, Brakebee is your online seller for the products in your line. Your fairs, festivals and custom or commission pieces stay entirely yours.¹

A note on results

We do the work that gives your line a real chance online: consistent listings, posts, emails and products. We don't guarantee sales.¹ Paid ads are another layer, and another conversation. The managed line runs on organic marketing, and if you want ads on top, we can help.
