Your time belongs in the studio and the booth
A festival weekend already asks for everything you have. You make the work, load the van, set up the booth and sell face to face for two or three days. Selling online and wholesale asks for a whole second set of skills: product photos, descriptions, a website, posts, emails, marketplace listings, retailer orders and follow-up with galleries and designers.
Most artists start that second job and stall, because the studio and the road come first. Managed Lines hands that job to a team that already runs the platform your line sits on.
We work on your line every week for as long as the partnership lasts. We can't promise sales, and nobody honestly can. We do promise steady, consistent work.
An art agent for the whole line
A traditional art agent or representative finds buyers, pitches galleries and negotiates deals, usually for a share of each sale. Agents are hard to find, and most focus on a few channels. Many artists never get one.
A managed line covers the work an agent does and much more. Brakebee represents your line online and in wholesale, builds the storefronts it sells through and runs the day-to-day work that keeps every channel accurate. Because your catalog, website, marketplace listings, connectors, wholesale and print lab all sit on one Brakebee system, one update reaches every place your work is sold.1
| Job | Doing it yourself | A traditional art agent | Managed Line on Brakebee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Finding buyers | You, between shows | Galleries and collectors the agent knows | Your website, marketplaces, connectors and wholesale buyers |
| Your website | You build and maintain it | Usually outside the job | Brakebee runs it on your own domain |
| Catalog and listings | You enter every piece on every site | Usually outside the job | One catalog feeds every channel |
| Social and email | You write, schedule and send | Rarely included | Social Central and Brakebee email from the same dashboard |
| Wholesale | You find stores and handle orders | Sometimes, through the agent's contacts | A full wholesale division run for your line |
| Prints and products | You order stock and ship it | Rarely included | The Phoenix lab prints and ships after each sale |

Your website, on your own domain
Your website is the one address you give every booth visitor, gallery and designer, so it carries your name. A managed line puts your storefront on your own domain, such as yourname.com. If you already own a domain, it stays yours. If you don't have one, we help you get one that sounds like your brand.
Behind the domain, the site runs on Brakebee with your catalog, collections, cart, checkout and contact form, and Brakebee keeps it current as your work changes.1,2Visitors who find you at a fair, on Instagram or through a retailer all land in the same place.
Marketplaces and connectors from one catalog
Every channel reads from your Brakebee catalog, so a new piece, a price change or a sold original updates everywhere at once.1
- The Brakebee marketplace. A curated art marketplace where accepted artists sell alongside other verified artists.
- Etsy and Shopify. Catalog products list on Etsy or a Shopify store, and orders and tracking sync back.
- Wayfair, Walmart, eBay and TikTok Shop. Brakebee lists your work through its own corporate seller accounts, so you never open or run a separate seller account on each one.
- Square. The same catalog works in Square.
Not every line belongs on every channel. We choose the ones that suit your work, your buyers and the way your orders get fulfilled.
A full wholesale division for your line
Wholesale puts your work in stores, galleries and design projects you would never reach from a booth. It also takes the most follow-up of any channel. In a managed line, Brakebee runs your entire wholesale division.
Wholesale markets
Your stocked work listed on Brakebee's Wholesale Market, where stores and galleries buy with wholesale prices, volume tiers and minimums.
Faire and other wholesale marketplaces
Faire is a wholesale platform where independent retailers find new brands. We list and manage your line there and on other wholesale marketplaces that fit.
Line reps
Reps carry your line to retailers in their territories. We find, brief and support them.
Gallery and designer sales
We pitch galleries, interior designers and design firms, and handle the follow-up and orders.
Your catalog powers all of it, so retailers, reps and designers always see current pieces and availability.1,3 Your wholesale plan is set together in the partnership conversation, including which work suits retailers and how orders get filled.
Social media and email, every week
Social media. We plan and schedule posts through Brakebee Social Central: new work, studio moments you share with us, show dates and seasonal collections. If you already have social accounts, we post to them for you, and they stay yours.1
Email. We send email blasts and drips to people who asked to hear about your work. They announce new pieces, share where you will be showing and welcome new collectors.1
Everything here is organic marketing, built to keep working after it goes out.
Paid ads, when you want another layer
Paid advertising is another layer on top of the organic work, and another conversation. If you want to add ads for your line, we can help. We talk through goals, budget and channels together, so ads support everything the managed line already does.
Print on demand from the Phoenix lab
The Phoenix lab prints, packs and ships each order after a collector pays.1For painters, illustrators and photographers, that opens a lower-cost way for fans to own your work, with no print stock in your garage. Before a print product goes live, we check that color, cropping and print quality represent your art well. Artists who sell only originals or work in three dimensions leave print on demand out.
When you need show stock, you can order a print run from the same lab.1
How a partnership starts
Start a conversation.
Send us a short note about your work, your shows and where you sell now. The form opens with the questions already filled in.
Plan your line together.
We talk through which pieces belong in your line, which channels and wholesale outlets suit them and how orders get fulfilled around your show calendar. You see the terms for your line before anything is signed.
We run it while you make art.
Brakebee builds and launches your line, then keeps it going every week. You keep doing fairs, festivals and commissions.
Who owns what
What you bring in stays yours. Your artwork and its copyright, your name, your existing social accounts, your existing website and domain, and the contact list you share all remain yours. Brakebee manages them during the partnership, and they go with you if you leave.4
What Brakebee builds belongs to Brakebee. The shops, seller accounts, listings, product designs and photos Brakebee creates for your line are Brakebee's. When a partnership ends, Brakebee stops using them for your line.4
Is a managed line a good match?
It tends to fit if you:
- sell at art fairs, festivals, markets or open studios
- have a body of work people already buy
- would rather hand off online and wholesale selling than learn to run them
- are comfortable with Brakebee as your online and wholesale seller for the work in your line
It tends not to fit if you:
- want to keep running your own online shop for the same work
- need guaranteed income
- want to approve every post and listing yourself
Questions artists ask
Is Managed Lines the same as having an art agent?
It covers what an agent does, finding buyers and representing your work, and adds your website, catalog, marketplaces, social, email, wholesale and print on demand, all run by one team.
What does it cost?
Every line is different, so we share the terms for your line during the partnership conversation.
Will I make sales?
We do the work that gives your line a real chance: listings, posts, email, wholesale outreach and products. We cannot guarantee sales or income.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Your website runs on your own domain. If you already own one, it stays yours.
Do you run paid ads?
Ads are another layer and another conversation. The managed line itself runs on organic marketing, and if you want ads on top, we can help.
Do you handle wholesale?
Yes. We run your wholesale division, from wholesale markets and Faire to line reps and gallery and designer sales.
Can I still sell at art fairs and festivals?
Yes. In-person events stay yours, and so do your custom and commission pieces.
Can I keep my own online shop?
For the products in your line, Brakebee is your online seller during the partnership. Bring up any shop you already run in the conversation, and we will work out a plan together.
Who owns my artwork?
You do. You keep the copyright to your original work.
Why do you add partners a few at a time?
Each line gets hands-on work every week, so we grow at a pace we can support.
What if I would rather run it myself?
Start with a free Brakebee account. Brakebee for artists covers the same catalog, shop, marketplace, connectors and print lab for artists who run things themselves.
